
IHO DIMEZE, IKEDURU MONARCH EZE DR MARTIN CHIEZE AMAKU EMPOWERS 19 VILLAGES, WARNS AGAINST FERTILIZER DIVERSION

His Royal Majesty, Eze (Dr.) Martin Chieze Amaku, Jp, Dimeze II of Iho Dimeze Ancient Kingdom in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, on Monday, June 1, 2026, distributed 400 bags of fertilizer to farmers during the third edition of his Agricultural Empowerment Programme held at his palace.The event attracted a large gathering of farmers, women, youths, and residents from Iho Dimeze and neighbouring communities, all of whom benefited from the agricultural inputs aimed at boosting food production and strengthening food security in the area.
The Executive Chairman of Ikeduru Local Government Area, Hon. Justice Nze, who attended the programme, donated ₦500,000 in support of the initiative. He commended Eze Amaku for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people, describing the monarch’s contributions to agriculture and food security as exemplary among traditional rulers in the council area.Also speaking,
Eze Peter Njoku, Uri of Amaimo and Chairman of the Ikeduru Council of Traditional Rulers, praised Eze Amaku for his dedication to community development. He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the monarch and noted that his consistent interventions had significantly enhanced agricultural growth and improved the livelihoods of people across Ikeduru.
The President-General of Iho Dimeze Town Union, Barr. Augustine Chuks Njoku, described the monarch as a visionary leader whose generosity and people-oriented programmes have continued to impact positively on women, men, youths, and vulnerable members of the community. He expressed optimism that the fertilizer distribution would contribute to a bumper harvest during the current farming season.
Other speakers at the event also commended the traditional ruler for his sustained investment in agriculture and community development, describing him as an inspiring leader whose initiatives have continued to uplift his people.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Eze Amaku warned against the resale of the fertilizer, stressing that it was strictly meant for farming purposes. He reminded recipients that the distribution formed part of a broader agricultural support programme undertaken by his administration this year. According to him, the programme had earlier witnessed the distribution of over ₦20 million agricultural empowerment Grant worth of assorted seeds, cassava stems, cocoyam seedlings, fruit crops, and more than 5,000 yam seedlings to farmers within and outside the community.

The monarch also announced that the annual traditional title of Eze Ji (Chief of Yam Harvest) would be conferred at the end of the harvesting season on the farmer with the highest yam yield, in line with the tradition established during the previous farming season.
Eze Amaku further disclosed that his Free Medical Healthcare Programme for 500 indigent citizens had been fully implemented. He explained that the initiative covered medical consultations, surgeries, and cancer treatments at designated hospitals. He urged beneficiaries to take advantage of the opportunity and assured those yet to be enlisted that they would be considered in subsequent editions, noting that the healthcare programme had become an annual intervention for residents of Iho Dimeze Autonomous Community and Neighbourhood residents.
The programme was attended by several traditional rulers from neighbouring communities, including representatives from Ngugo and Akabo Autonomous Communities. Visiting royal fathers were also presented with bags of fertilizer. Notable guests included Eze Barrister Njoku Nwashi of Akabo Autonomous Community, chiefs from the Ohaji axis of Imo State, and members of the Ikeduru Youth Organisation.
At the conclusion of the programme, all 19 villages that make up Iho Dimeze Autonomous Community benefited from the fertilizer distribution, further underscoring Eze Amaku’s commitment to agricultural development, economic empowerment, and the overall well-being of his people.
