NIGERIAN NAVY DESTROY 8 ILLEGAL REFINERIES, VOW TO ELIMINATE OIL THIEVES IN NIGER DELTA

 The Nigerian Navy -Eastern Naval Headquarters Calabar in its bid to eradicate crude oil theft, has carried out activities tailored towards eliminating illegal refineries in theta region. On Friday 5th of July 2024 Nigerian Navy’s Forward Operating Base IGBOKODA discovered and destroyed 8-illegal oil refineries in Akwa Ibom state.

The Naval team were led by the Commanding Officer Captain Mamman Wasuku Alushi, said that the Nigerian Navy in its mandate as issued by the Naval Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, intends to achieve the goal of getting rid of crude oil and allied products thieves in the Country, This was contained in a Press Statement released by A .Adams-Aliu Cdr of Department of Information.

The Nigerian Navy has in the past been active in curtailing oil theft across its areas of operation especially in the Niger Delta.
