HRM EZE (DR.) MARTIN CHIEZE AMAKU JP, DIMEZE II, MARKS ONE YEAR ON THE THRONE WITH FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH FOR OVER 500 RESIDENTS

It was a moment of celebration, compassion, and impactful leadership in Iho Dimeze Autonomous Community as His Royal Majesty, Eze (Dr.) Martin Chieze Amaku Jp, Dimeze II, marked his first anniversary on the throne with a landmark humanitarian initiative and an outpouring of goodwill from notable stakeholders.

The colourful event, held on Easter Monday, April 6, 2026, commemorated the one-year anniversary of the presentation of his Staff of Office and Certificate of Recognition by the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, on March 22, 2025. It also featured the launch of a free annual medical outreach scheme aimed at providing healthcare services to over 500 indigenes every year.

In his address, the monarch reflected on his journey to the throne, describing it as one marked by perseverance, resilience, and eventual triumph. He noted that his recognition by the state government represents not just a personal milestone but a collective victory for the entire Iho Dimeze people.

The ceremony attracted an array of dignitaries, traditional rulers, and community leaders, including His Royal Majesty, Assa II, Eze (Dr.) Vitus Uchenna Kasa of Nguguo Autonomous Community, Clan Chief Ulunna Unachukwu Eze Chinemerem I of Iho Dimeze, Onye Ana Eche I of Ikeduru and his amiable wife, Senior Apostle (Dr.) Honourable Sam Udeh, former Imo State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), and Hon. Justice Nze, Executive Chairman of Ikeduru Local Government Area.

Cultural heritage came alive through vibrant performances by dance groups drawn from most of the 19 villages of the community, alongside the captivating display of the revered Nmanwu masquerade.

As part of efforts to strengthen grassroots governance, Eze Amaku inaugurated Traditional Councils across the 19 villages, empowering them to handle disputes relating to land, family matters, and traditional rites, with the palace serving as the final appellate authority.

A major highlight of the celebration was the series of philanthropic gestures that underscored a deepening culture of community support. The President of the Nigerian Youth Council (Imo State Chapter) announced five scholarship slots for indigent students, reserved about 500 slots for skills acquisition programmes, and donated ₦500,000 to the Eze-in-Council Cabinet. Additionally, ₦200,000 was donated to the women of the community in support of development efforts.

However, the most remarkable act of generosity came from a distinguished female spiritual leader and philanthropist, Bishop/Prophetess (Dr.) Mummy Oluchi Elijah Ojukwu, popularly known as Ekeogba Jesus, Founder of God’s Weapon Deliverance Church of God, Amaruru Iho Dimeze, Ikeduru L.G.A., Imo State.

In a powerful demonstration of love and commitment to community development, she made a freewill donation of ₦1,000,000, which was earmarked for distribution among women, youths, and members of the media crew who covered the historic event. Her gesture drew widespread applause and admiration, further highlighting the vital role of women in community advancement and humanitarian service.

The celebration reached its climax with the rollout of a free medical insurance initiative, through which eligible residents will receive health cards granting them access to treatment at designated hospitals within the community. The programme immediately provided essential healthcare services to over 500 beneficiaries, earning heartfelt gratitude and commendation from residents.

The anniversary not only marked one year of purposeful leadership by Eze (Dr.) Martin Chieze Amaku JP, Dimeze II, but also showcased a growing spirit of unity, generosity, and inclusive development — with Bishop/Prophetess (Dr.) Mummy Oluchi Elijah Ojukwu’s ₦1 million donation standing out as a defining symbol of compassion and community partnership.
