RIVERS STATE WOMEN CALL ATIKU ABUBAKAR TO VIE FOR 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

The women of Rivers state on Saturday 19th of March, 2022 held a consultative cum sensitization get together under the aegis of South-South Chapter of Atiku Abubakar Support Organization-ASO 2023 led by High Chief (Mrs.)  Aleruchi Toboulayefa Alamieyeseigha called on the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to contest in the 2023 general elections for the office of President of Federal republic of Nigeria.

The occasion was heralded by the presence of the leadership of Atiku Abubakar Support Organization Rivers state chapter led by Pastor Philip Tamuno George while the ASO Rivers state Chapter Women Leader Princess Carol Awhule Okwu was present and mobilized the grass root people.

Present at the event were PDP grass root unit and ward leaders that include Lady Tolofari Jennifer Wakrike Polo Community PDP Women Leader; Edith Belema from Amatari Polo Community PDP Women Leader; Tamunosiki Isaac is Darrick Polo Community PDP Women Leader and Ochu Harrita Secretary to PDP Ward 6 Women Leader.  

Others present were Pastor Philip Tamuno George, AKULGA Coordinator for Atiku Abubakar Support Organization. The women all passionately earnestly ask for Atiku Abubakar to step forward and contest in the 2023 Presidential election.

The women who turned out in great numbers gathered at the Okrika waterfront Rose estate playground Off Aggrey Road Port Harcourt Town pleaded with Atiku Abubakar to come and salvage the Nigerian masses from the present economic woes and lead them to a better tomorrow. There were people from various walks of life with other faith organizations that participated at the well-attended sensitization and consultation meeting. A Muslim cleric who is resident in the community led in prayers while Pastor Thompson led Christian Faithfuls in the opening prayers. The indefatigable South-South women leader, High Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Nice Alamieyeseigha deployed her motherly attribute in penetrating an area most dreaded by residents as tough and not easy-going locality as she brought all the vulnerable youths into one-fold and made them to come out in their numbers and support Atiku Abubakar for President come 2023 and they were pleased with the call. They later became part of the social service workers that secured the environment and provided the most needed security at the event. This goes a long way to demonstrate how Atiku Abubakar is loved in the Niger Delta which Mrs. Alamieyeseigha has amplified by carrying out her advocacy to the grass root.

Recounting the qualitative values of the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who they admitted has a lot of his investment located in South-South of Nigeria they said that he is a detribalized Nigerian whose companies have employed many of their children and husbands. The women praised the Waziri of Adamawa as a of Peace giving his roles while he was Vice President in laying down good economic policies of that administration which ushered in progress and prosperity among the citizenry.

In her address the Women Leader of Atiku Abubakar Support Organization ASO-South-South Zone, High Chief (Mrs.) Aleruchi Toboulayefa Nice Alamieyeseigha, reiterated the fact that this present administration has made Nigerians to undergo economic hardship with loss of jobs by breadwinners and children who are supposed to in the universities are now roaming the streets because of the ASUU industrial strike that has crippled academic activities in Nigeria. She condemned the way and manner citizens are being killed at random both by Boko Haram and unknown gunmen. That If they vote for Atiku Abubakar come 2023, that they will go to bed with their two eyes closed because Atiku Abubakar will maintain peace and Order by adhering to his Oath of office of protecting lives and property. She concluded that Atiku Abubakar will take good care of the Physically challenged persons in the country given the provisions of extant laws that has equal opportunities for all citizens with the inclusion of persons with disability placing them into positions of leadership. Hence it is on this premise that there was presence of many persons with physical challenges that attended the sensitization cum advocacy meeting with Rivers state communities.

She pledged to visit all the 6- states in South-South geo-political zone and preach the good news of the qualities of Atiku Abubakar and for him to be voted into office as executive President of Federal republic of Nigeria. The South-South Women leader therefore urged women to go out and register for Permanent Voters Cards-PVC which will enable them to cast their votes for Atiku Abubakar come 2023 Presidential election.

Other women gave goodwill messages as Mrs. Crystal Iwari Ude in her speech emphasized that women should not miss to go and have the required civic responsibilities fulfilled first by having the PVC and protecting it as it is their power to vote out bad government.    The women all passionately and earnestly ask Atiku Abubakar to step forward and contest in the 2023 Presidential election as a candidate.

The occasion was used to organize the community for Voters advocacy and how the community can participate actively in effecting change in the 2023 general elections.
