PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU RECONSTITUTES KEY FEDERAL AGENCIES, ANNOUNCES 26 STRATEGIC APPOINTMENTS

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 distinguished Nigerians into various strategic Federal Government agencies and commissions as part of his administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, improve institutional efficiency and reposition critical public institutions for enhanced service delivery.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, cut across 10 key federal agencies and commissions and form part of the administration’s broader governance reform agenda aimed at deepening accountability, strengthening institutional capacity and accelerating national development.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency and signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the appointments cover a broad spectrum of strategic government institutions.
At the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has been appointed Chairman, while Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta will serve as Members and Non-Executive Directors. The board will also comprise the agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, alongside the serving Executive Directors.
The President also approved the reconstitution of the National Salary and Wages Commission with Major General Junaid Bindawa (Rtd.) as Chairman and former House of Representatives member Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas as Secretary. Other appointments into the commission include Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun and Yakubu Umar Barde as Commissioners, while Dr. Mai Adamu Yau, Ginika Florence Tor, Engineer Lawrence Okoh and Bello Morenike Iyabode will serve as Members.
Also announced was the redeployment of Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, former Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund, as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission.
Further appointments include Dr. Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission; Dr. Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET); and Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
In the agricultural sector, Engineer Julius Oloro has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), succeeding the late Dr. A. R. Kamal.
President Tinubu also reconstituted the Fiscal Responsibility Commission with Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman. Other members of the board are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola, who are expected to provide strategic oversight and strengthen fiscal discipline.
In addition, Shuni Muhammad Dahiru has been appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was earlier reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund. Gisaor Vincent Iorja was also named Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority, replacing Mathias Byuan, who resigned to pursue his governorship ambition in Benue State.
The Presidency expressed confidence that the appointments would further consolidate ongoing reforms across critical sectors, strengthen public institutions and improve service delivery. According to the statement, all the appointments take immediate effect as the Tinubu administration continues to implement its governance and economic reform agenda.
