NORTH FIGHTS BACK!

GOVERNORS & ROYAL FATHERS UNVEIL HISTORIC SECURITY REFORMS

A Kaduna Showdown That Could Change Everything

Northern Nigeria roared back at insecurity yesterday as the 19 Governors and 19 Royal Fathers locked themselves behind the fortress walls of the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House — and emerged hours later with the boldest, toughest, most uncompromising security blueprint the region has seen in years.

In a high-tension meeting that insiders say “felt like a war council,” political power and royal authority fused to confront the terror gripping the North — from bandits to insurgents to mining cartels feeding the violence.

Tension was thick. Security was tight. Every word carried weight.

But when the doors finally opened, one thing was clear:

THE NORTH IS DONE PLAYING DEFENSE.

The communique hit like a thunderclap — state police backed 100%, illegal mining declared a security emergency, and a massive ₦1 BILLION PER STATE monthly security fund launched to bankroll the fight against criminals at every corner of the region.

The Governors and Emirs opened with heavy hearts, mourning the killing and kidnapping of schoolchildren in Kebbi, Kwara, Kogi, Niger, Sokoto, Jigawa and Kano. They also condemned the latest Boko Haram strikes in Borno and Yobe, calling them “an assault on our collective soul.”

The leaders praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s rescue operations and vowed to support him “as he takes the fight straight into insurgent enclaves.”

Inside the room, one resolution electrified the entire hall: the unanimous decision to suspend all mining operations for six months. “Illegal mining is feeding bloodshed,” one participant said. “We must cut off their oxygen.”

And then came the bombshell:
Each Northern state — and its local governments — will contribute ₦1 billion every month, automatically deducted at source, into a new Regional Security Trust Fund.

Analysts say the move signals a new era: one where the North is no longer waiting for rescue — but taking charge of its own destiny.

The leaders will reconvene soon to measure the impact of these sweeping decisions. But for now, one message rings across every corner of the region:

THE NORTH IS FIGHTING BACK — AND THIS TIME, IT’S A FULL-ON OFFENSIVE.
