NICE ESTHER FOR ALL FOUNDATION CELEBRATES UNITED NATION’S INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
The 16 Days event began on Monday 25th of November 2024 as the founder of Nice Esther For All Foundation High Chief Dr. Mrs. Nice Aleruchi Tobouleyefa ALAMIEYESEIGHA gathered dignitaries and children from different Orphanage Homes, Non Governmental Organizations plus MDAs all were present at Rubicon Event Center no 11 Prefab GRA Phase 3, Port Harcourt.. Rivers state. In her welcome address the host High Chief Dr. (Mrs.)Nice Aleruchi Tobouleyefa ALAMIEYESEIGHA founder Nice Esther For All Foundation NEFAF extolled the Rivers state Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara for his pursuit in inclusive education for Rivers state Girl Child, indigents and highly vulnerable children which she described as the main thrust of Sir Siminalayi FUBARA’S administration.
She also thanked former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who was Chairman of he occasion ably represented by Dr. Dimeji Fagbuyi and his team being members of Atiku Foundation as she said ” To my Father the founder of ATIKU Foundation that has helped sharpen my philanthropic spirit going by his establishment of institutions that has been fir Women to accessicro Finance loans and education for young girls and to my boss Leader Amb. Hon.Chijioke Ihunwo Executive Chairman of Obio Akpor LGA, ably represented by his wife, i say Thank you.
High Chief ALAMIEYESEIGHA in her speech identified several factors that directly impact on women’s fundamental fights leading to gender based violence against women such as Economic, social and cultural factors. others include psychological and individual factors, institutional and systematic factors. she therefore, opined that “violence against women requires a multifaceted approach that involves individuals, communities, organizations, and Governments.”
As advocate for Literacy and Education for the Girl Child she outlined some strategies to combat violence against women from individual level by education and awareness, challenges patriarchal norms and support of survivors of violence against women. For using community approach level, she said engaging community, support groups and collaboration with local organizations.
Her suggest for strategies to curb violence against women involve in organizational level approach by implementation of policiesnd procedures,and by providing training and resources while supporting employees’ wellbeing. In taking Governmental Level approach she said that this could be achieved by enacting and enforcing laws, providing Fund and resources and by establishment of national action plans.
However,she concluded he strategies for stopping violence against Women at global level should involve international coorporation by collaborating with international organizations and Governments to share best practices and coordinate. efforts. Use of global awareness campaigns she suggested must take critical launch of global awareness campaigns to raise awareness targeted to promote preventionf violence against women.
Introduction of supporting global initiatives which will deliver United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals SDGs as focused in eliminating violence against women in the long run.” Remember preventing violence against Women requires a collective effort. Everyone has a role to play in creating a society that values and respect women’s rights and dignity, ” she said.
Several organizations and very important personalities graced the occasion including Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who celebrated his 78th birthday same day, spoke the through his representative Dr. Fagbuyi as he identified High Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Nice ALAMIEYESEIGHA’s philanthropic gestures which he described as being worthy of emulation as she will someday be rewarded.
Pastor Mrs. Chizoba Woke gave brief exhortation as she admonished women to know who they are in the society. Mrs Chiorlu Ndidi of National Council of Women Society NCWS, Obio/Akpor LGA chapter after giving commendations for the philanthropic activities of Mrs ALAMIEYESEIGHA decorated her.
Friends and well-wishers made voluntary financial contributions towards the welfare of the orphans and vulnerable children who immediately were given available donations made on the spot with arrangements for delivery of pledges.
