NIGER DELTA SUMMIT GROUP CAUTIONS AGAINST ATTACK ON EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT NNPCL UPSTREAM- ORITSEMEYIWA EYESAN,OTHERS
There has been calls by Niger Delta Oil And Gas Summit against surreptitious act of calumny against the interest of Niger Delta people working in the Oil and Gas sector especially those who are blackmailing the Executive Vice President Upstream of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd, NNPCL, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan and others in Niger delta region. The group unveiled plans to malign the hard earned over 30 years working experience as a oil and gas professional of Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan who has been targeted to have discord with Managing Director/CEO NNPCL Mele Kyari. Disturbed with the discovery of ill-plots by enemies of Niger Delta people, The SUMMIT, a group of several associations operating in the Niger Delta comprising their leadership after due deliberations issued FATWA on any individual or groups in or outside Niger delta region working against the citizens of the region especially now that a Niger delta person is occupying exalted position in Oil and gas sector a position it has been denied for many years.
The group issued a Press release which was signed by Honourable Prince Uzoka Emeka, Director Strategy and Communication of the SUMMIT group and the National PRO of nationwide Tinubu connect Associate (NTCA) in which it stated that “FATWA will be administered on any person or organization that tries such evil act again as such individuals are enemies of the development of the zone.” The SUMMIT comprises of a well articulated quarterly channel which examines the state of Niger Delta conducted by their various leaders in the states of Niger Delta as they come up with quarterly independent reports about their zone which they make available to the office the President Federal republic of Nigeria.
They have given voice to their region in maintaining peace and tranquility which has aided smooth operation of Oil and gas exploration and exploitation thereby improving the economy of Nigeria.
