HOW RIVERS STATE NON-INDIGENOUS GROUP FOR ASIWAJU SAVED APC IN RIVERS STATE
The confusion that trailed the Rivers state chapter of All Progressives Congress APC since 2015 to date has been linked to the activities of those who connived with the other Political parties in the state to deny APC from participating in the various elective positions in the past elections. The Director General Rivers State Non-Indigenous Group For Asiwaju -RISNGA Dr. Adeleke Prince Jones stated this on Saturday 15th of October,2022, in a Press Conference held at Saint Paul’s cathedral of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion Garrison, Rebisi Port Harcourt.
“The Press Conference today is also meant to disabuse the minds of all APC members in Rivers state, that the APC National does not have the support for APC Rivers State. APC Rivers state should please not fall for the gimmicks of the opponent who are using publicity to weaken the strength of the party in Rivers State.
“We are not taking by surprise, the kind of politics played in Rivers state, we are not deaf to the rumour going around which is in the public domain that filtered out by some political elements who think they can deter us from our focus and cause disunity in the body of APC both in the State (Rivers State) and between the Rivers state APC and the APC National. For all the negative Publicity against the leader of APC Rivers state, I wish you emphasis that the APC body in Rivers state created the vacuum, which was being taken advantage of by the opponents. But here we are today to change the narrative and restore back the glory of our leader Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi in the state. For we now know that when that is achieved, we will walk with our shoulder high in the state and all Candidates in the forth coming election in Rivers state will also get their place.”
The event was also used to introduce various political office seekers in the National assembly, state assembly and the Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress as Honourable Waserete Douglas represented Pastor Architect Tonye Cole of APC Rivers state Governorship candidate. While Professor Lawrence Chuku a Rivers state House of Assembly candidate spoke eloquently challenged those who claim to be working with APC national to face their new political party as they cannot be in another party and campaign for another Presidential candidate. Prof. Chuku admitted that Senator Abe and his followers visited Asiwaju and demanded to be paid N50m monthly. He narrated why Rivers state APC chapter loyalist to Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi are not happy with National Headquarters over certain relationships being entered into by Speaker Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila who visited Rivers state for the commissioning of Project and that even Ekiti State Governor Femi Kayode organised South Western APC Governors who visited Rivers state Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike without consulting the Rivers state-based APC members and executives loyal to Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. Prof. Chuku reiterated the fact that “Gov. Wike is fearful person, he arranges such visits to boost his ego and enrich his political value which he had lost during the PDP Presidential Primary election.
For, Dr. Prince Adeleke Jones, RISNIGA leader “They want us to believe that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working with them. They want us to believe that Tinubu is funding them against us in the party. They make charade publicity to weaken our strength as a party. They want us to be deterred, perturbed and disorganized. But we are not because we re aware of their plots.
“We know with facts that they are using some set of people in Government as mercenaries working tirelessly, flying into Abuja no attention has been given to them and we also know with facts that they have never gotten Asiwaju’s attention and will never get his attention. We know Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu from his antecedents. He cannot and will not work against his party.
“On this note we wish to reiterate that the APC Professional Council and other Support groups here present today are for ASIWAJU/SHETIMA, TONYE COLE/BARIKOR, the 3 senatorial candidates, the 13 Federal House of Representatives and 32 state House of assembly candidates. We know for sure that our dividend lies in their success; we will work for their winning.”
There was unveiling of Asiwaju branded water produced to be distributed for free at the various 23 Local Government Areas and 319 electoral wards and at the 4442 Polling Units all in Rivers state. The occasion witnessed the presence of seasoned Labour leader in Rivers state Sam Accra Jaja founder of Sam Jaja Foundation former Chairman Nigerian Labour Congress-NLC Rivers state, Odenigbo Elder and Youth Forum For Good Governance, Honourable Professor Lawrence Chuku, Hon. Maclean Franklyn Uranta, Alex Weher a former Special Assistant for 8-years To Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi now APC Rivers State House of Assembly candidate et al. There are over 26, 979 members of Rivers State Non-Indigenous Group For Asiwaju-RISNIGA with spread in the 4442 Polling Units, 319 electoral wards and 23 Local Government Areas all in Rivers state. They also have 45 executives in 23 LGAs and 45 Executives in the 319 wards which has made RISNIGA one of the most successful well spread APC political pressure group in Rivers state South-South Nigeria.
