NDDC RIVERS STATE REPRESENTATIVE TONY OKOCHA PREACHES PEACE, EXTOLS PRESIDENT TINUBU FOR PROJECT EXECUTIONS IN RIVERS

NDDC RIVERS STATE REPRESENTATIVE TONY OKOCHA PREACHES PEACE, EXTOLS PRESIDENT TINUBU FOR PROJECT EXECUTIONS IN RIVERS 

The member Representing Rivers state at the 7th Governing Management Board of Niger Delta Development Commission —NDDC Chief Tony Okocha had lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his approvals for the execution of several developmental projects across the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers state. On Tuesday 30th of July 2024 he mobilized members of Renewed Hope Agenda team and the Press who visited 5 Local Government Areas in Rivers State where ongoing projects were supervised. He used the opportunity to appeal to the youths and beneficiaries of all the projects sites in the communities visited not to embark on unnecessary Protests that will destroy the ongoing projects so far being executed by President Tinubu for their wellbeing.

The team visited Umuechem Community Secondary school in Etche Local Government Area where there’s construction of modern ultra semi detachable 2 bedroom apartment for Teachers’ Quarters and Principal Quarter a 3bedroom detached all in-suit apartment. The Rivers state representative Chief Tony Okocha while addressing the audience at the inspection site, urged them to support President Tinubu as his Renewed Hope mantra is real as he is working assiduously to fulfilling his campaign promises. He urged the youth and beneficiaries of the Projects to desist from participation in the unnecessary Protests that are not worthy.

The Paramount Ruler of Umuechem, Ochimba His Royal Highness Eze Samson Emu thanked President Tinubu and 7th Governing Management Board members of NDDC for the execution of the Projects. He stated that Umuechem Community is home to 53 crude oil and gas wells since 1957 when Shell Petroleum Development Company Ltd came to Umuechem in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers state. 

In continuation of the inspection of projects the team moved to Ndele Campus of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Emohua Local Government Area where he paid courtesy call to the Paramount Ruler Eze Barrister Damion Ejiwhor where there’s construction of 10 units of One bedroom apartments including recreation living Quarters for members of National Youth Service Corps Scheme NYSC. 

At the Island community of Soku in Akuku Toru Local Government Area of Rivers state, the NDDC Rivers state Representative Chief Tony Okocha inspected the ten thousand gallons of World Health Organizatiib’ s standard Solar Powered water reticulation project. The spokesman for the community Dr. Ottissa Christian Livingstone extol Chief Tony Okocha and President Tinubu for the permanent eradication of Cholera which had claimed several lives in the area. The intervention, it was reported by the experts, saved 264 people in the area. He also thanked President Tinubu for the provision of a relief palliative and medical team that attended to the urgent situation at Soku island community. Chief Okocha asked the people to support President Tinubu for his ability to respond quickly to the speedy interventions for the three areas of Medical intervention, Relief palliatives and 10,000 gallons of Solar Powered water reticulation project that without the quick approvals by President Tinubu it couldn’t have been done. Therefore, he told them to support Mr. President and cautioned the Youths from taking part in the planned Protest that although it’s their constitutional rights but they should know that people who don’t mean well for Nigeria may hijack the protest and destroy properties belonging to law abiding citizens including this reticulated Solar Powered water project.

The inspection team arrived at the Local Government Area where 1,300sitting arena Degema Pavilion inspection site with the construction work having reached advanced stage. The contractor assured the team that by August 2024 the project will be completed. As Chief Okocha explained the importance of the construction of a 1,300 seater  capacity Pavilion as it will offer the people an avenue to gather and discuss the affairs of the people for social interactions including hosting of weddings, meetings and other socio- economic impact it will have for the people. He also reiterated that it was chosen by the people after due consultations. Chief Okocha in his appeal to the beneficiaries urged them to remain law abiding and shun any unwarranted protest that will be inimical to their wellbeing. 

The hard working Rivers state Representative at the 7th Governing Management Board of Niger Delta Development Commission —NDDC,Chief Okocha and his team moved over to the ultra modern multi purpose construction of Nkpolu Town Hall and the Nkpolu – Rumuagholu community road. He also supervised the ongoing rehabilitation and construction of drainage system of the Apara Link Road to NTA road in OBIO/ AKPOR LGA all being done by NDDC 7th Governing Management Board led by Chairman Barrister Chiedu Ebie and Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer CEO Dr  Samuel Ogbuku. The beneficiaries of the projects were excited with the speedy interventions by President Tinubu for the ongoing developmental projects being executed in their areas. ” Renewed Hope is Real” and ” President Tinubu is Working” were the inscriptions written on the T- shirts and Fez caps worn by the admirers and supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who were present at all the project sites visited at the 5 Local Government Areas in Rivers state.
