ABIA STATE GOVERNOR-ELECT ALEX OTI APPOINTS STAR-STUDDED TRANSITION COMMITTEE
The incoming Governor of Abia state and Finance Guru Dr. Alex Oti has constituted an 8-Man transition Committee which comprises top Nigerian Professionals from all walks of life. The list of the Committee members shows that the Governor-Elect has direction in the way and means he wants to bring professionals into the development of Abia state. The Chairman of the Committee remains Victor Onyenkpa who happened to be Partner and Chief Operating Officer of KPMG, a top financial international group. Following this is Co-Chairman Ifueko Okaru, a former Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS).
Top in the list is the popular Arunma Oteh, former Director General of Nigeria Securities and Stock Exchange Commission. She has been former Treasurer and Vice President of the World bank. This Abia state born Financial expert, is currently Director at FSD Africa. She is to bring into Dr. Alex Oti’s incoming Government her wealth of experiences which will galvanize development in the state.
Again, prominent citizens of Abia State such as Mr. Uche Orji who is the immediate past Chief executive Officer of Sovereign Investment Authority-NSIA. He is expected to contribute in the framing of financial inclusion of Abia State in the road map towards economic recovery after many years of mismanagement with Abia state being an Oil Producing state with 13 percent Crude oil derivation Fund and 13 percent of gas production accruing revenue to the state.
Professor Ndubuisi Ekekwe made the list being a Nigerian born inventor whose patented work has been taken over with his Apple designed Semiconductor for iPhone. His contributions in the Transition committee will inject new knowledge on how to make Abia State a renewed Masterplan for even development to thrive successfully within the 4-years of administration and beyond the set-out targets.
Mr. Victor Okoronkwo is the Managing Director of Oil Production company Aiteo Oil and Gas. He will bring his wealth of experience into the Masterplan of Dr. Alex Oti for a new vision of development in Abia state.
FRANK NNEJI the quintessential transportation entrepreneur and founder of ABC Transport Company is one of the chosen members of the Transition Committee with the view to contribute his own quota of service to the development of Abia State although he has Imo state as his state of origin.
Ide John Udeagbala is your everyday man who is based at Aba where he controls a lot of businesses. The incoming Governor of Abia State Dr. Alex Oti is an investment banker whose days as a top-notch banker has improved in building Nigerian economic development. He is a graduate of University of Port Harcourt. He was born on 18th of February, 1965 being an Economist, Banker, Investor, Philanthropist and Politician as his last office was that of former Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank Plc. which is one of the most valued retail financial institutions in Nigeria. And on Saturday 18th of March, 2023 he was elected Governor of Abia state under the platform of Labour Party, LP.
