Rivers state governor Wike urged the new Oba of Ogbaland to follow the path of late Oba of Ogbaland Chukumela Nnam Obi II and maintain peace and utilize intelligence as his predecessor his late father did during his 50-years reign on the throne as he said “I hope you will continue that way. Your business is the interest of your people and make sure that your communities are in peace.”

While the traditional Prime Minister of Ogbaland, Chief Louis Ajie introduced the Oba of Ogbaland, he admitted that they consulted widely until they found a trustworthy, honest man with impeccable character as the new Oba of Ogbaland.

Again the Oba while expressing his joy and happiness over the pronouncement made by the Rivers state Governor, acknowledged the developmental strides in Ogbaland as executed projects by Governor Wike’s administration especially the return of peace in Omoku.

Similarly, Governor Wike used the occasion to admonish that communities should not take to violence when asking companies to implement Memorandum of Understanding-MoU but to approach the government to look into their matter. “It is not when you go and blow Oil Pipelines or gas pipelines that you get what you want to get. No community can do it alone.

There is nothing wrong with you liaising with the government to make sure companies fulfil their promises and whatever is provided in the Memorandum of Understanding MoU. You need the government to give you support.”
