RIVERS STATE CORRESPONDENTS’ CHAPEL NUJ, HOST 2025 PRESS WEEK, PRAY FOR PEACE AMONG POLITICIANS
The members of Correspondents’ chapel, Rivers state chapter Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ are now set to begin its 2025 Press Week scheduled to take place from Monday 7th of April,2025 to Sunday 13th April,2025. The Chairman of Corresspondents’ Chapel Rivers state chapter Comrade Amaechi Godwin Okonkwo and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Mr Ignatius Chukwu in a Press statement jointly put out highlighted the activities for the 2025 Correspondents’ Chapel Press Week with the release of the Theme of the Opening ceremony titled ” Blue Economy Starting Steps For Rivers State” as the sib- theme is ” Enhancing The Safety and Economic Wellbeing of Journalists in a Period of Tension and Economic Crisis.”
Selected for attendance are high profile business gurus including creme de la creme of top business men and women such as Mayor .of Housing, My Ace- China, First female President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture-PHCCIMA Dr. Chinyere Nwogu, Dr. Chamberlain S. Peterside, Executive Chairman, Xcelion Capital Advisors while Guest Speaker is Mr. Ubong Essien, Dean School of Eloquence and former Special Assistant to Director General Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency- NIMASA.
The 2025 Press Week activities slated for Opening ceremony takes place on Monday 7th April,2025 at NBA Hall opposite Port Harcoutt City Council PHALGA Secretarait as Dinner will be beheld same place on Friday, 11th of April 2025. The group will pay visit to Orphanage Home, as it holds Special Congress and all the activities will end withThanksgiving Church Service at Redemption Hall Model Parish of Redeem Christian Church of God, Station Road, Elelenwo, Port Harcourt.
The group solicit members of the association and the general public to ” join well- meaning citizens of Rivers state to pray for peace and for early end to political crisis in the state so that the economy of the state can resume at faster pace through closer attention to the Blue Economy. This will help the state to compete forcefully with its peers in the Comity of States in Nigeria.”
