VICE PRESIDENT KASSIM SHETTIMA UNMASK CRUDE OIL CABALS IN NIGERIA
The Vice President of Federal Republic of Nigeria Senator Kassim Shettima during the Progressives Governors’ Meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu held at Aso Rock Presidential Villa Abuja identified the problem with Oil thieves who are sabotaging the policies of the present administration especially relating with the removal of Oil Subsidy as recently announced by the President. While addressing the audience he said “The Oil Scam cabal is a very powerful cabal that is dangerously loaded and they will go out of their way to undermine this great initiative by Mr. President. I urge our Governors to really rally round Mr. President and see to it that we call off the bluffs of machinations that will be unleashed on the polity that will be coming with as some will certainly resist this decision. But even now oil is going for N740 in Togo. Cameroon had to close down their refineries because of cheap oil coming in from Nigeria. So, there’s the need for us to rally round this beautiful decision by Mr. President because it is for the good of our economy. Our economy is in a very bad shape. We either get rid of the Oil Subsidy or the Oil subsidy will get rid of the Nigerian Nation. That’s how bad things are. I just want to reiterate that let’s rally round Mr. President and let’s not bulge, let’s be resilient, let’s stand our ground and see that these two decisions the collapse of multiple exchange rate that has fuelled a parallel market of corruption and Fuel subsidy scam “
Few days ago, a National Newspaper Daily Trust had published on 31st of May, 2023 that the Central bank of Nigeria sold Dollars to bidders at the importers and Exporters window at the rate of N631 per one United States of America Dollar. Thus, it is on record that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with CBN Governor Godwin Emefele and he had spoken of his Government ‘s resolve to unify Nigeria’s exchange rate markets.
