SIMINIALAYE FUBARA WINS PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY RIVERS STATE GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARY

–AS ISAAC KAMALU TRAILS BEHIND

The highly favoured governorship candidate of Rivers state chapter Peoples Democratic Party –PDP has finally emerged as the retired Accountant General of Rivers state Siminialaye Fubara won the just concluded PDP rivers state Governorship Primary election which was conducted at Obi Wali Cultural center Port Harcourt amidst tight security. The delegates’ convention that was scheduled to take place by 10am on Wednesday 25th of May, 2022 finally commenced few minutes after 4pm when the executive Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike who is also a frontline Presidential aspirant of PDP.

The Gubernatorial Electoral Committee Chairman Professor Walter Mboto who conducted the election that had a total of 898 had Siminialaye Fubara emerged winner with 721 votes cast in his favour while former Commissioner for Finance Honourable Isaac Kamalu emerged second place with 86-votes. Other contestants such as Dr. George Dax Kelly got 37-votes to be placed at the third position.

Brother Felix Obuah the former state Chairman of PDP and Sole Administrator of Rivers state Waste Management Agency -RIWAMA also got 2 votes as he had earlier tactically withdrawn from the race when a day to the Gubernatorial  primary election he cautioned his supporters not be violent if the outcome of the votes fail beyond their expectations as he believes in party supremacy.  

Chief West Morgan scored 4-votes, Chief David Briggs scored 4-votes the former Secretary to Rivers state Government -SSG Dr. Tammy Danagogo scored 36-votes. The PDP Rivers state Governorship candidate Siminialaye Fubara is a native of Opobo /Nkoro Local Government Area a riverine coastal community located in eastern Ijaw of Rivers South East senatorial district.
