SHOCK DEFECTION: EX-IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR EZE MADUMERE DUMPS APC, JOINS PDP IN EXPLOSIVE MOVE!
Former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a bold political realignment.
In his resignation letter, Madumere explained that the move was driven by a strong desire to unite like-minded individuals committed to restoring the democratic rights and privileges of citizens. He pledged to champion youth empowerment, innovation, and transparent governance in his new political home.
“I believe that when the platform one stands on is no longer serving the purpose of the people, it then becomes apt to build a new one,” he stated.
He added: “I have decided to officially inform you of my resignation from APC and my entry into the PDP. This is to enable me contribute my quota towards the development of the nation from a different perspective.”
Madumere described the defection as a defining moment in his political career, saying it came after extensive consultations with his family, mentors, and supporters.
While expressing gratitude to the APC for the opportunities it gave him — particularly his service as Deputy Governor of Imo State — and for the relationships built during his time in the party, he made it clear that his exit was born out of necessity, not malice.
“I have come to terms with the notion that I could no longer continue to be an appendage of a party that does not reward loyalty but is frequently in the habit of disrespecting and marginalizing members who have stuck their lives for the unity, progress and development of the society,” Madumere said.
He cited internal conflicts, loss of ideological direction, and the consistent disregard for loyal members as key reasons he could no longer remain in the APC.
“Remaining there will be a disservice to the very people who once voted me as Deputy Governor of Imo State,” he added.
The development marks a significant shift for the former deputy governor, who served under former Governor Rochas Okorocha.
