Port Harcourt celebrity lady and accomplished legal practitioner, Barrister Rosebells Eruwun Uviovo, has recorded another landmark achievement in her distinguished professional journey with her successful graduation from the New York Bar and admission into the New York Bar Association, thereby qualifying her for legal professional practice in the United States of America.
Barrister Uviovo’s inspiring academic and professional path reflects intellectual versatility, resilience, and a clear global vision. Her quest for higher education began at the University of Port Harcourt, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biochemistry in 2002. Driven by a passion for continuous learning and professional advancement, she later transitioned into the legal profession and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RUST), now Rivers State University (RSU).
Her academic journey further took her beyond Nigeria’s shores, where she earned a postgraduate Master’s degree in Transnational Oil and Gas and Energy Law from the University of Derby in the United Kingdom. This specialized qualification positioned her at the intersection of international energy law, commercial regulation, and global policy frameworks. She subsequently capped her academic pursuits with a doctoral programme PhD degree in Criminal Justice from Atlantic International University (AIU), Honolulu, Hawaii, United States of America, further strengthening her scholarly foundation and expertise within the global justice system.
In line with her expanding global legal profile, Barrister Rosebells Uviovo attended the prestigious New York State Bar Association Annual Meeting 2026, which took place from January 13 to 16, 2026, at the New York Hilton Midtown. The premier legal event of the year, marking the 150th Annual Meeting of the New York State Bar Association, brought together lawyers of diverse backgrounds and jurisdictions. This highly respected gathering assembled legal professionals from around the world to engage in robust discussions, share knowledge, exchange ideas, and network with colleagues across various areas of legal practice.
The 2026 Annual Meeting was widely described as a dynamic and informative event, featuring a broad range of sessions, panel discussions, and professional activities tailored to the diverse interests and evolving needs of lawyers practicing in New York and beyond. Beyond her academic and professional exploits, Barrister Uviovo has consistently articulated clear personal goals. She has stated that her aspirations include advocacy to ensure access to justice for indigent, vulnerable, and marginalized persons. She also intends to pursue a career in academia as a law lecturer, with a long-term vision of becoming a Professor of Law.

While in Nigeria, she distinguished herself as a successful businesswoman and Chief Executive Officer of Mega Grill Fastfood and Mega Grill Bakery, a confectionery enterprise where she demonstrated exceptional capacity in managing human and material resources. Her leadership fostered robust working relationships with customers and staff, contributing to the growth and sustainability of the business.
