RIVERS STATE WOMEN SPEAK WITH ONE VOICE: RWUS BACKS PRESIDENT TINUBU, STANDS FIRMLY WITH GOV. FUBARA

In a powerful show of unity and grassroots strength, women across Rivers State, operating under the platform of Rivers Women Unite for SIM (RWUS), have openly declared their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while reaffirming total loyalty to Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, describing the alignment as a deliberate choice anchored on stability, good governance and the future of their families.
The declaration was made at a colourful and well-attended gathering in Port Harcourt, where women from different communities converged to underscore their collective resolve to stand with leadership they believe represents progress and inclusiveness.
Speaking at the event, the Founder of RWUS, Chief Honourable (Mrs.) Sotonye Toby-Fulton, said the endorsement was neither accidental nor emotional, but the outcome of careful reflection by Rivers women who bear the direct consequences of governance.
“We are women who understand what instability does to homes and communities,” she said.
“Our support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara is total and unwavering. And because he has taken a stand with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the interest of progress, Rivers women have also taken that stand.”
Chief Toby-Fulton stressed that RWUS is more than a political platform, describing it as a movement rooted in unity, empowerment and responsibility.

“Wherever Governor Siminalayi Fubara goes, that is where Rivers women will go,” she declared, drawing loud applause. “When governance is stable, homes are stable. When leadership is focused, our children’s future is protected.”
She noted that women—mothers, daughters, wives and sisters—are no longer content with being spectators in politics, but are now organised and intentional about influencing decisions that affect their lives.
The event also took on a celebratory tone with the announcement of a Christmas largesse from the wife of the Rivers State Governor, Lady Valerie Fubara, the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative and Founder of the Valerie Simple Life Initiative. The gesture was greeted with cheers, prayers and heartfelt appreciation.

In her message to the women, Lady Valerie Fubara reaffirmed her commitment to grassroots empowerment and compassionate leadership.
“When women are supported, families are strengthened and communities grow,” she said. “Our administration remains committed to touching lives, especially at the grassroots, and ensuring that no woman is left behind.”
Organised by the Toby Jug Foundation in collaboration with RWUS, the gathering featured vibrant cultural performances, colourful attire and Christmas songs, reflecting the resilience and diversity of Rivers women. Beyond the festivities, the event marked the close of RWUS activities for the year and signalled a renewed commitment to political engagement and community development.
As the women dispersed, the message was unmistakable: Rivers women are united, organized and ready to stand with leadership they trust. As Chief Honourable (Mrs.) Sotonye Toby-Fulton aptly put it:
“This movement is not about noise; it is about impact. When women move together, society moves forward.”
