DAMAGUN-LED PDP FACTION CALLS EMERGENCY NEC MEETING AS PARTY FACES CRISIS
High-profile defections and internal rifts push PDP to the edge; top leaders set to convene in Abuja tomorrow.
Barely days after the Ibadan national delegates’ convention, the PDP is once again under the spotlight. The Damagun-led faction is convening a critical National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at the Wadata National Headquarters, Abuja, tomorrow, November 18, 2025.
The meeting, which will include embattled National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu and several top party leaders, aims to tackle the deepening internal crisis. The party is still reeling from defections, most notably Taraba Governor Agbu Kefas’ exit to APC along with his executive council.

Confirmed attendees include former Senate President Olusola Saraki, ex-Jigawa Governor Sule Lamido, Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, highlighting the high stakes of the gathering.
Political analysts warn tomorrow’s NEC session could either stabilize the party or expose its fractures further, with major implications for Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of upcoming elections.
