In a spectacular electoral triumph, Professor Charles Chukwuemeka Soludo has been re-elected Governor of Anambra State after a resounding victory in the November 2025 governorship election. Running under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) banner, he secured 422,664 votes—a commanding lead over his closest rival from the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 99,445 votes. Other parties trailed with the Young Progressives Party (YPP) garnering 33,652 votes, the Labour Party (LP) 10,482, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) 8,317 and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 1,774.

Highlights of the results include: Ayamelum (APGA 13,340; APC 7,478), Nnewi North (APGA 20,320; APC 5,441), Nnewi South (APGA 17,286; APC 9,281), Onitsha North (APGA 24,225; APC 4,677), Onitsha South (APGA 15,752; APC 4,156), Idemili North (APGA 25,498; APC 6,383), Idemili South (APGA 17,224; APC 6,015), Awka North (APGA 15,895; APC 3,661), Awka South (APGA 27,896; APC 5,038), Njikoka (APGA 22,213; APC 5,678), Ekwusigo (APGA 18,749; APC 2,973), Dunukofia (APGA 14,892; APC 3,284), Ogbaru (APGA 22,803; APC 3,768), Anambra East (APGA 14,665; APC 3,108), Oyi (APGA 18,882; APC 5,118), Orumba North (APGA 24,664; APC 2,615), Orumba South (APGA 19,818; APC 2,818), Aguata (APGA 35,558; APC 4,125), Aniocha (APGA 20,118; APC 5,956), Ihiala (APGA 23,557; APC 4,425) and Anambra West (APGA 9,318; APC 3,428). The totals show APGA’s 422,664 votes against APC’s 99,445.
With this decisive victory, Soludo joins former governors Peter Obi and Willie Obiano as part of the APGA legacy of two-term leadership in Anambra State. The result reaffirms the party’s deep roots and widespread appeal across the region. Across Awka, Nnewi and Onitsha, jubilant supporters poured into the streets chanting “21/21! Game over!” in celebration of Soludo’s clean sweep.
Independent observers and civil society groups commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a peaceful, credible and transparent election, particularly praising the use of the IReV portal for real-time results transmission. In his victory address, Governor Soludo expressed gratitude to the people of Anambra State, stating: “This victory belongs to Ndi Anambra. Together, we have shown that progress, integrity and performance are what truly matter in leadership.”
As he begins his new four-year mandate, Soludo is expected to deepen key reforms in infrastructure, youth and digital empowerment, security and economic expansion—building on the momentum of this sweeping mandate. Congratulations to APGA and to Professor Charles Chukwuemeka Soludo—the Solution Governor is returned, and the people of Anambra have delivered their voice.
