WHEN WILL PRESIDENT TINUBU’S LIES END?
President Tinubu’s propensity for lying has become a hallmark of his administration, leaving Nigerians wondering when the lies will end. A man whose pedigree, school, and service records are woven in truncated lies, falsehoods, and deception, is not ashamed to lie to Nigerians, and seems unable to remember how many times he has lied to his countrymen and women.
A Disorder Requiring Assessment and Treatment?
If someone in Tinubu’s age is still lying without knowing when to stop, it becomes a disorder requiring assessment, evaluation, rehabilitation, and treatment. International Press Fact Checkers have unraveled lies told by public officials in government, which impugn seriously on their integrity and credibility.
Destruction of Credibility
When a President or any top official of government lies in public, it destroys whatever credibility they claim to have. Nigerians need to tell Tinubu in his face that they know his lies and that they have been aware of them all along.
INEC’s Role in Verifying Politicians’ Claims
Nigerians must take the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to task and charge the Commission to re-vet Tinubu, verify his identity, claims on dates of birth, place of origin, schools attended, and certificates received. INEC’s failure to do so in the first instance has raised questions about its credibility and ability to conduct free and fair elections.
Tinubu’s Lies and Chicago University
Tinubu’s recent claim about an alleged classmate from Belarus, Alex, at Chicago University, has sparked more controversy. The Chicago University had long debunked Tinubu’s lies and disinformation, disclaiming the certificate he claimed was awarded to him from the University.
FBI Files and Tinubu’s Lies
The US FBI is yet to release Tinubu’s 2500 Criminal Records Files, despite promises to do so. The Presidency fought hard to delay the release, citing collateral damage to Tinubu’s personality and position.
Conclusion
When will President Tinubu’s lies end? Nigerians should ask their President, before these lies churn their stomachs with more discomfort and outrage. Tinubu’s lies have destroyed his credibility, and it’s time for Nigerians to demand accountability and transparency from their leaders.
