NATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOL NTUEKE, IDEATO SOUTH OLD STDS’ ASSOCIATION HANDS OVER NYSC, CORPER’S LODGE
On Wednesday 28th of December,2022 the Old students’ association of National Secondary school Ntueke Ideato South Local Government Area in Imo held its End of Year Annual General Meeting with the Commissioning of newly reconstructed bungalow building project meant for a living quarters for members of National Youth Service Corps Scheme-NYSC. The multi-Million-naira project was executed with financial contributions made by the Old Students’ Association with the direct labour supervision of the executive members led by indefatigable Dr. Emmanuel Nwosu aka Mehala.
The leadership of the association while performing the 2022 End of year Annual General meeting held at Dimagu community in Isikenesie town of Ideato South Local government Area Imo state being the resident of one of the members a 1982 set, Honourable Engineer Johnson Duru who is currently representing Ideato South Constituency in Imo state House of Assembly, performed handing over of the first phase of couple of 3-Self-Contained Flats bungalow to the School authority represented by members of staff with the Principal of the school Mrs. Calista Udogu present during the unveiling ceremony on Wednesday, 28th of December 2022 at the school premises in Ntueke town.
The National President of the Association Dr. Emmanuel Nwosu in his address of Welcome after exchange of hilarious banters by the members of the famous over 49- years old institution did present a score card of his 8-months of leadership which include resounding proven achievements having harmonized the membership registration process to be in tune with 21st century digital administration where financial records of members are exhibited. Other leadership style innovations made by Dr. Emmanuel Nwosu prompted his executive to establish an e-Constitution which members easily obtain via electronic cum digital process and generating welfare benefits for living members while deceased ones are also given due financial benefits.
Regular visitation by members of the Old Students’ Association he stated has brought improvement in the administration of the institution with the proposed intervention in the release of the Senior Secondary School Ordinary Level School Certificate withheld by West African examination Council over examination irregularities in view of the payment of fine of Five Hundred Thousand naira (N500,000.00). In the 2023 projections, Dr. Nwosu told the members about completion of the second phase of the 3-self-contain Flat bungalow with provision of certain furnishing materials for the apartment.
He lauded members of the association who are outstanding in responding to the services of the association especially those who make financial contributions “At one time or the other, these members have made individual considerable contributions for the progress of NSSNOSA. These individual members do so, not necessarily because they have more than others, or they benefitted more than you from NSSN, but for their special love for our alma mater and the association. This is a challenge to each of us members of NSSNOSA”, he said.
It is on record that the institution which produced its first set of graduates 45 years ago has contributed in having adequate highly trained manpower personalities both in the academia and business sector of the Nigerian economy. “ Yet, the school has over the years been producing men of timber and calibre who can individually contribute to the welfare of the school. Let me once again, appreciate all members who donated towards the Corpers’ Lodge project. NSSNOSA donor ‘Motivators’ Engineers Sam Azubuike and Josy Orji, thank you. I appeal to members who are yet donate to the project to rise up to the challenge. Yes, we shall definitely make the difference as members of NSSNOSA.” Dr. Nwosu stated.
The resolutions coming out from the Meeting includes opening of register for Up-To-date financially registered Members of NSSNOSA.
According to a statement released by the Public Relation Officer of the association Chief Emeka Ezeasoibe , the Association enumerated list of upcoming events in 2023 especially the invitation by members to participate in the burial ceremony of the brother of Dr. Maxwell Ugwu at his Country home Ogume Ntueke on 4th January, 2023. On 5th January, 2023 Chief Ike Agbasi extended an invitation to members for the 85th Birthday ceremony of his mother by 2pm at Urualla town in Ideato North Local Government Area headquarters. The gracious invitation of members by United States of America based Engineer Josie Orji who on 9th of January, 2023 will host NSSNOSA members inside his palatial country home was announced as members were implored to honour the invitation.
The attention of members of the NSSNOSA was drawn to the health condition of Mr. Okechukwu Nwokeji a 1982 graduating set whose two legs have been amputated due to Diabetes for 15 years that he has been on sick bed as members were asked to show kindness to their sick Old student. In his school days he was known by his alias as Okey De Dombrayee.
The occasion came to an end after members were treated with sumptuous delicacies and best of winery supplied by the host Honourable Engr. Johnson Duru, who is a member of NSSNOSA that overwhelmingly approved his re-election endorsement for the March 2023 election into Ideato South State Constituency which is under the platform of all Progressives Congress-APC of Imo state House of Assembly.
