RIVERS STATE MONARCH, OBA OF OGBALAND DR. NWACHUKWU OBUOHA NNAM OBI III, CAUTIONS POLITICIANS ON 2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS

The Oba of Ogbaland , His Eminence , Oba (Dr.) Nwachukwu Obuoha Nnam  Obi III has cautioned politicians in the country to approach 2023 general elections by staying close to their manifestoes and stop name calling and war of words that cause disharmony in the polity. He advised the political players especially the Presidential candidates to stop campaign of calumny and demarketing of political opponents as they should concentrate on key issues of development. While addressing the people of Ogbaland during the 2022 Nchaka which is ordinarily known as (Egwu -Ogba) at the conclusion of the fiesta held at Omoku town in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers state, he called on political parties to obey the Peace accord that they signed at the national, state and local Government levels as he reiterated the need for the national peace Committee led by former Military Head of state retd. General Abdulsalam Abubakar and his members to monitor the activities of political parties as the 2023 general elections approach which already is characterized with mudslinging and thuggery.

His Eminence the Monarch called on the People of Ogbaland both at home and in diaspora to go out and obtain their Permanent Voters’ Cards-PVCs which will afford them the opportunity to vote for competent, God fearing and trustworthy leaders of their choice during the 2023 General elections.

Krikri stated that Oba of Ogbaland expressed his pleasure for the peaceful conduct of the 2022 Ncheka festival which he described as the mark of end of a calendar year of the Ogba ethnic nationality and the beginning of another calendar year which have been embraced by all believers including Christians, Muslims and traditionalists in the kingdom.

The XII Oba Eze-Oba of Ogbaland, Nwachukwu Nnam Obi III, declared for his people to be tolerance and continued peace, unity and love among his people as he said “the state of abject poverty in the area despite the abundant natural resources of oil and gas deposited by Almighty God in the area is not only attributed to injustice but also complacency and low collective commitment of the people.”
