SDP RIVERS STATE GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE MAGNUS ABE PICKS DR. PATRICIA OGBONNAYA AS RUNNING MATE
The race to Rivers state BRICK HOUSE seat of political power has just begun with the political campaign for state Governors and Houses of assembly is set to begin in few weeks’ time in October, 2022.What is at stake now is the electioneering campaign manifestoes to be released to the electorate who will eventually make their minds in the selection of who governs them come March 11th, 2023 Governorship election. One thing is certain here which is having female voters among the various demographic segments of the voting population in Rivers state being carried along. Social Democratic Party-SDP gubernatorial candidate Distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe had selected Dr. (Mrs.) Patricia Wudhiga Ogbonnaya who was a former Permanent Secretary in Rivers State Civil Service before her retirement.
Prior to that appointment she was First Controller Rivers state/Bayelsa state of National Examination Commission-NECO while Dr. Peter Odili was holding sway as executive Governor of Rivers state from 1999 to 2007. She hails from Ahoada West local Government Area being born on 8th of August 1961 in the popular Ikiriko family.
This pretty looking woman of substance is truly a scholar having acquired her elementary School Certificate from State School Edeoha, Ahoada East in 1973. She attended Government Secondary School Joikarama, Ahoada West and passed out in 1978. This intelligent lady went to pursue higher academic laurels as she obtained Nigerian Certificate in Education -NCE from University of Ibadan in 1982 with a major in Biology/Chemistry. She proceeded to University of Nigeria Nsukka UNN where earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry Education in 1990. With her unquenchable desire for higher learning she undertook a Post graduate studies in Management from Rivers state University of Science and Technology, Nkpolu Orowurokwo Port Harcourt where she earned M.Ed in Management in 2002. Her doctoral degree PhD in Business management was obtained from Apostolic Theological Seminary (An affiliate of Cornerstone University & Seminary of Jerusalem-Israel) United States of America and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2002.
She had over 15-years of Classroom teaching experience before her elevation into Rivers state First Head of Planning, Research and Statistics Department of former Ministry of Higher Education; First Chairman Schools Conservation Clubs Committee in Rivers state; First Chairman of Environmental Education Coordinator Implementation Committee; Commissioner in the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Eleme, Ogu and Okrika Communal Conflicts; First NECO Controller in Rivers state; First Controller NECO Regional Scanning Centre, Port Harcourt, rivers state; Member of Governing Council of Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Port Harcourt; Member governing Council Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic Bori Rivers state; Member Governing Council of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Rumuolumeni port Harcourt; Member of Governing Council Rivers State University of Science and technology, Nkpolu-Orowurokwo Port Harcourt; Permanent Secretary Ministry of women Affairs Rivers State; Permanent secretary Ministry of Housing Rivers State; Permanent secretary Office of the Head Of Service, Rivers state; Permanent secretary Ministry of Environment; Permanent secretary ministry of Chieftaincy and Community development Affairs rivers State; Permanent secretary Special Project Bureau, Rivers State; Permanent secretary Ministry of Education Rivers State and Permanent Secretary Scholarship Board, Rivers state.
This elegant lady holds several traditional chieftaincy titles including Ada Orashi(Queen of Orashi Region Rivers State); which automatically qualifies her to be addressed as High chief as a well revered woman of substance in Rivers state.
This her first time of engaging into elective political position as running mate to distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe of Social Democratic party-SDP in the Rivers state Governorship election which comes up on 11th of March, 2023.
