NIGERIA’S PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION 2023: MASSIVE CROWD HOLD RALLIES FOR PETER OBI ACROSS WORLD MAJOR CITIES

The 62nd Nigeria’s Independence anniversary ceremony was held across major cities all over the globe which turned out to be political rallies for Peter Obi of Labour Party, LP. Although it came as a mark youths across Nigeria and major cities in the world who assembled with T-Shirts and other memorabilia signifying Peter/Baba-Ahmed Datti Presidential candidacy. At Lagos, the commercial center of Nigeria, ‘Obident’ followers as they would like to be addressed gathered at three major centres which include Festac Town; Lagos island and Lagos Mainland. As early as 8am on Saturday 1st of October, 2022 supporters of Peter Obi began gathering along Admiralty junction walking through the Lekki main road with brisk stopovers waving their Labour Party Flags and posters with Peter Obi and his Vice-Presidential candidate Dr. Baba-Ahmed Yussuf Datti. They also walked through Elegoshi area bearing in mind that a Federal High Court sitting at Lagos judicial division had on Wednesday 28th, September, 2022 ruled that there will be no gathering at Lekki Toll gate but passers-by can walk pass the area.  In support of the Court Order, security men were seen mounting sentry at the designated Lekki Toll Gate axis as Ordered by Inspector General of Police.

The Labour Party Presidential candidate is 61-years old and a former governor of Anambra state as he is paired with Dr. Yussuf Datti Baba-Ahmed a successful technocrat and business man. There are three other frontline Presidential candidates with All Progressives Congress-APC having Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and New Nigerian Peoples Party NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The Obi supporters who held rallies across Nigeria’s major cities it was gathered were seen in the capital cities of Delta state, Asaba, Edo state capital city of Benin city, Gombe town capital of Gombe state, Zaria and Kaduna capital of Kaduna state, Uyo, capital of Akwa Ibom state. In Trafalgar square London United kingdom there were many supporters of Peter Obi who gathered dancing and waving Nigerian national flag with Labour Party Flag and other symbols of presidential Candidate of Labour Party and his running mate Baba-Ahmed Yussuf Datti. Other cities like Port Harcourt and Yenagoa in Bayelsa state held similar rallies in the month of September, 2022 sensitizing electorate to go and obtain Permanent Voters Card which will enable them to cast their votes to their most preferred candidates during the February 25th, 2023 Presidential election and that of National Assembly and other subsequent elections to be held on 11th of March, 2023 for State Assembly and Governorship positions.
