FORMER RIVERS STATE GOVERNOR CHIBUIKE ROTIMI AMAECHI BAGS LAW DEGREE
Few months ago, the immediate former Minister for Transportation and former Governor of Rivers State Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi was among graduates who bagged Law Degree, LLB from Baze University Abuja, Federal Capital Territory FCT Abuja Nigeria. The quiet ceremony had the former Governor brimming with satisfaction for having fulfilled one of his life ambitions which includes having legal knowledge and helping to advancing human development using his acquired knowledge in the study of Law as Course obtained from Ivory tower.
The Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area Rivers state born politician first attended University of Port Harcourt Rivers state where he earned Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Language and Literary Studies after he went in for a Masters Degree in Literary Studies also from University of Port Harcourt.
He did his mandatory National Youth Service Corps NYSC program at Kaduna, Kaduna state in 1989.
As he gained employment with Pamo Clinic at Port Harcourt as Secretary having attempted to gain employment with Nigerian Television Authority, NTA Port Harcourt Rivers State.
On June 2nd 1999 he was sworn in as Speaker Rivers State House of Assembly where he represented Ikwerre state Constituency seat for 8- years. And on 25th of October,2007 he was declared executive Governor of Rivers State by the Judgement if the Nigerian Supreme Court until 2015 after he served out second term in office. In 2015 he was appointed Minister fir Transportation where he successfully revolutionized the modern Nigerian Railway standard Gauge in the Western Corridor whereas he began the Eastern Railroad Narrow Gauge from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri which was on take-Off stage when he resigned to contest fir the All Progressives Congress APC Presidential Primary election in 2022 as he emerged first runner up to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who won the election as Presidential Candidate of All Progressives Congress APC fir the 2023 General elections to be held on 25th February and 11th of March,2023.
