PORT HARCOURT MULTI-BILLIONAIRE LAWYER ——LUCIUS NWOSU FOR BURIAL
The remains of Port Harcourt based Multi-Billionaire lawyer-Lucius Nwosu who died few months back is set for burial beginning from Monday 6th of June,2022. His family has released funeral obsequies and other burial rites befitting a Senior Advocate of Nigeria-SAN with his acclaimed social status as a corporate Litigation Lawyer who gave nightmare to multi-national oil companies operating in Nigeria concerning environmental degradation and payment for compensations to host communities.
In the funeral obsequies signed on behalf of the family by Zimizu A Nwosu Esq. and R. A Lawal-Rabana, SAN chairman of the burial committee titled “Transition unto glory of a colossus Lucius E. Nwosu “ on 2nd of June, 2022 Mass service was held at Mater Misericordiae Catholic Church 7A Arochukwu street Rumuomasi Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The Chief Judge of Federal High Court Hon. Justice John Terhemba Tsoho shall preside over a Valedictory Court Session organized for him to be held on Monday, June 2022 at Court Auditorium, Federal High Court Complex, Shehu Shagari Express Way, Central Area, Abuja. Coming same day is the conduction of Mass cum Service of Songs and Tributes on 6th of JUNE, 2022 at Chida Event Center Utako Abuja to be officiated by Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Utako Abuja.
The burial train shall move to his country home, in Imo state where on 9th of June,2022 there will be Mass Service by 5 Pm at Udo town in Ezinihite Mbaise Local Government Area. On the 10th of June, 2022, the funeral service shall be conducted by 11am at All Saints Catholic Church Udo town in Ezinihite Mbaise.
In his lifetime, Lucius Nwosu represented Ogoni, rivers state in a Case the community had against Shell Petroleum Development Company SPDC over crude Oil Spill. In the Judgment sum awarded to the Ogoni Community stood at N45.9Billion in compensation. Not done, he got another compensation of N37.6Billion for the Odi community in Bayelsa state against the Federal government of Nigeria invasion which took place President Olusegun Obasanjo was holding sway as President.
In a similar vein, Lucius Nwosu got a landmark judgment of N81billion for communities in Akwa Ibom state against NNPC and Mobil Oil Unlimited.
In his remark about the deceased, Justice John Terhemba Tsoho said “I appreciate the committed, sustained and outstanding law Practice of the late Learned Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Lucius Ezeaka Nwosu, SAN in the Federal High Court during his lifetime.” At Port Harcourt where he resided and had his Legal practice with headquarters located at Ohaeto Street D/Line every Friday, he played host to younger lawyers and provided stipend for them as a way of encouraging them. While at Owerri Imo State capital Lucius Nwosu built a 4-Star Hospitality outfit and in his home town Udo, of Ezinihite Local Government Area of Imo state he was a huge success in community development projects including providing asphalted road for his people. He will surely be missed by the Oil Producing Communities in Niger delta and some corporate institutions will also miss his unique intelligent legal services.
