APC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION MAY 2022: WHY I RAN AROUND THE STADIUM -AMAECHI OPENS UP ON HIS FITNESS

The frontline Presidential aspirant and current Minister of Transportation Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has opened up on his reasons why he ran around the Adokie Amesimaka International Stadium Omagwa Port Harcourt Rivers state when on Saturday 9th of April, 2022 he declared his interest in contest for the 2023 Presidential election under the platform of All Progressives Congress-APC.

While on a consultative visit to the Palace of Ooni of Ife, Ile Ife Osun State on Monday 18th of April, 2022, the former Governor of Rivers state stated that he remains a bridge between the young and old generation of Nigeria as he said “Age will not be an issue. I am like a bridge between the young and OId. People have asked me why I ran around the stadium. I was checking to see how fit I am. So, I had to run around the stadium to confirm to myself that I am strong enough to carry the problems of the country, whether it is mentally or physically.”

Continuing he admitted that “Because you need both mental capacity and physical fitness to manage this country. You have to be physically strong and have the mental capacity to make decisions on behalf of the country.”

The former Speaker and erstwhile Governor of Rivers state has been on consultative trail, visiting stakeholders in Nigeria including the All Progressives Congress-APC national Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu where he visited him at his Nasarawa state country Home to officially inform him of his intention to contest in the coming Presidential Primary election of APC. His nationwide visit has led him to Emir of Kano’s Palace where he briefed the traditional Ruler that he has come out to present himself to serve as the next President of Nigeria and contest in the 2023 Presidential election should he clench the APC, Presidential party primary slated to take place on Tuesday May 31st, 2022.
