NIGERIAN ARMY 6 DIVISION GETS NEW COMMANDER

There has been change of baton in 6 Division of Nigerian Army Port Harcourt Headquarter as Major General Olufemi Oluyede New General Officer Commanding GOC and Land Component Commander Operation Delta Safe resumed office on Monday, 17th of January,2022.

In a press statement released by Lieutenant Colonel Charles Ekeocha the Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relation of 6-Division Port Harcourt it stated that Major General Olufemi Oluyede has attended all required mandatory Courses in Nigerian Army as he had served at several Nigerian Army formations and units having held several appointments at various capacities.

The new GOC 6-Division of Nigerian Army General Oluyede is an alumnus of the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies NIPPS Kuru, Jos Plateau State. Before his current appointment as the ninth GOC 6-Division, Nigerian Army he was in charge of Department of Policy and Plans of Army Headquarters Abuja.

During  the handing over ceremony, the outgoing  GOC Major General Sani Mohammed urged officers to give his successor absolute sense of commitment and loyalty. There was signing of handing over and Taking over notes which culminated with the Division’s Insignia handed over Command Flag to the new GOC with Inspection of the Quarter Guard. The new GOC thanked God for his elevation as GOC  6-Division Port Harcourt of the Nigerian Army. Present at the occasion were Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers of the Division affiliated Command Formations and Units.
